”..their excellent bimonthly magazine [which,] as far as we’re concerned, sets the standard for a new generation of American car club magazines..”

Free services, help & advice
There are many officials on hand to help you with any problems or requests. From insurance valuations and year of manufacture verification to full VIN/body number decoding. Motorvatin’ USA and its associated clubs are officially recognised by the DVLA for this purpose (See last page for details).
Club Historian, Paul Hilton is also Europe’s leading decoding specialist, and has provided his services for the research of numerous magazine features and books. His articles can be found in every issue of our magazine. As well as providing members with regular articles, Technical Advisor, Chris Richards, will be pleased to help you out with advice. Although a hydrologist by profession, Chris loves anything mechanical and seems to enjoy challenge. Many will no doubt remember his regular column in American Car World. Other Secretaries, such as those representing Cadillac, Chrysler/Mopar, Ford, Oldsmobile and Pre ‘49, can also be called upon, as can our 20+ regional representatives across the UK. Members are also more than welcome to call club headquarters where we’ll be more than happy to set you in the right direction - or possibly even help you ourselves.

Discounts
Many parts suppliers offer discounts to members - so whether you’re up to your neck in a ground-up restoration, or simply keeping your car on the road, your membership card will enable you to make savings far in excess of your membership cost! You will also benefit from privileged rates offered by leading insurance brokers and enjoy discounted entry to many events.

Shows
Motorvatin’ USA stage several large shows which are gaining in popularity each year. We have held events at famous venues including Brooklands Museum, Surrey; Duxford Imperial War Museum, Cambridgeshire; Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, plus others in Essex, Sussex and Yorkshire. We are not set in our ways and are always seeking new venues and challenges. Good quality trophies are awarded to the class winners at all our events.

Into the future
Whether your desire be for new cars or old, the future of our hobby is threatened by constant legislation. According to the DVLA there were over 100,000 US vehicles registered by 1999 - they’re not going to go away, and neither are we; our tomorrows depend on the world knowing that. With this firmly in mind, Motorvatin’ USA joined the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC). Although this organisation currently represents vehicles over 20 years old, the causes which it fights for within the heart of Brussels will benefit owners of all cars whatever their date of manufacture. Thanks to the efforts of the FBHVC authorised garages are now legally permitted to sell Leaded Fuel. They also commissioned the recent Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA) tests of lead substitutes, the results of which have set industry standards.

Helping each other
The Association of American Car Clubs UK is a voluntary, non-profit making organisation. Our officials consist of a group of avid American car enthusiasts who offer their time freely to help members, with the hope that in so doing they will strengthen and safeguard our hobby for future generations. Membership will be whatever you make of it: the backbone of any club is its members and endless opportunities exist for those who wish to become involved in this rewarding hobby. Your part in all of this could just be as simple as becoming a member and an important part of the fastest growing American car club in the UK - showing your support and having fun to the bargain.
